The friendly choir
Sands Singers is the friendly community choir based in Woburn Sands, Bedfordshire. Our members come from all over the surrounding area. The choir is open to everybody and we do not ‘audition’ for a place in the choir. So come and join us, we will help you to find your voice and enjoy using it - be it soprano, alto, tenor or bass. The choir has been running for over ten years and has a lovely varied repertoire with new songs frequently added. We sing for enjoyment and achievement and love to put on occasional concerts.
We rehearse @ Ellen Pettit Hall, High St, Woburn Sands, Beds
Fridays 7 - 9pm (during three terms a year)
Back singing again
Now back rehearsing!
The choir meets for weekly rehearsals in three ‘terms’ (similar to school terms and with a half-term break) on a Friday evening between 7 and 9 pm. The venue is easy to find, it is the Ellen Pettit Memorial Hall on Woburn Sands High Street. See ‘Contact Us’ for a map.
Love to sing
Listen to us sing
The last performance by Sands Singers was at the Wavendon Winter Music Festival in February 2020. The choir opened the concert with a performance of beautiful emotive songs which went down very well with the packed audience. If you’d like to hear what we sound like then listen to this video. It sets an evocative photo narrative to the recording of “I believe” & “Ave Maria” a favourite blended arrangement.
Thank you for community support
The committee would like to warmly thank Arts Council, Woburn Sands Town Council and the Coop Membership Community Fund for their support. These grants have contributed towards our aims of offering regular rehearsals and events to all members of our community.
